you can get the newly-released open-source engine, which I successfully compiled with 64-bit Linux Mint 12. There are instructions for compiling under Windows and Linux and everything you need for compiling is free, of course.

It runs like a champ, full 1600x900, and sounds terrific. I installed Arx Fatalis with wine which ran pretty well., but not as smoothly nor as good-looking as this native 64-bit engine.

I'm going to have fun...

That's great news!

I'm running LMDE 64bit and I'm having issues compiling it though.

Could you by chance post a .deb installer for Arx Libertatis?

EDIT: I'm a dummy when it comes to compiling, but I managed to compile this one well enough. I'm running Wheezy x64, but it *should* also work on any Debian based distros (including Ubuntu, as long as it's 64 bit). Just stick the arx binary with your installed game files, e.g. /home/[username]/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/GOG.com/Arx Fatalis/ and double click to play.

Enjoy!

There are also compiled versions for Windows for those that don't want to compile it themselves. These won't necessarily contain the latest changes to the source, of course.

I am also lacking knowledge in compiling so how can I run Arx Fatalis using the binaries? (also 2 binaries are listed which one should I download?)
After downloading, whether I need to click the arx32 directly or requires some additional tweaking to run the game with the aforesaid binaries??

Please help..thanks

Download the latest version (currently arxlibertatis_0.1_ff17c.zip), extract all the files into the Arx Fatalis install folder, then run arx32.

I did the same and an error , namely, "MSV100.dll" not found pops up.

Hmm... missing libraries.

Download and run the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable installer maybe?

Running and working..thanks!

Lastly there is nothing mentioned as far as what improvisation this binary does to the game. I mean is this better? Will run without problems?..

That's it..Thank you guys for the helping hand.
