A fantastic RPG game set in a post-apocalyptic world filled with survivors, mutants and interesting locations, considered by many to be the best game in history. One of its key features are dark humor and various pop-culture references. The game sends the player on a quest to save his home – Vault 13. We start by creating a character and even here Fallout shows us the variety of choices it gives us – there are no preset professions or character classes. We can be both a natural born orator and merchant who can sell anything and a scientist-sniper – no profession is given preferential treatment. Another innovation is that the statistics we chose at the beginning don't change a lot during the game – if we started off as a wimp, a wimp is what we will be at the end of the game. Fallout puts the emphasis on skills and it's these that we will be developing the most.
During his journey our hero (or heroine) will travel the war-torn America and will be faced with many challenges along the way. These can be finished in many ways, and when I say many I actually mean A LOT, since most quests have many solutions and endings. Speaking of quests you must remember that there is a lot of them as well! At least quite a few main ones and a couple of sub-quests. Additionally every conversation can be carried out in a couple of ways, depending on how smart we are, how much we know and what we want to obtain. Combat is made in a turn-based system using action points.
Fallout is a game with a rich world and countless possibilities. Personally I believe that every gamer should play it until the end at least once. I definitely recommend this game to everyone!
